Africa has
44 million businesses.
They can't find each other.

Patna is the infrastructure that makes African business collaboration systematic, trusted, and scalable. This is why we exist — and what we are building to fix it.

What We Stand For

Built on a single conviction

African businesses are not lacking ambition, capital, or talent. What they lack is the infrastructure to find the right partners, verify who they can trust, and build relationships that compound over time. Patna is that infrastructure.

OUR MISSION

To make African business collaboration as systematic as African payments

Just as Paystack made it possible for any African business to accept money from anyone, Patna makes it possible for any African business to find, trust, and work with the right partner — without relying on who you know or which room you happened to walk into.

OUR VISION

A continent where every business can grow by building with others

We envision a future where a logistics company in Kano can find a verified cold-chain partner in Nairobi in minutes. Where a fintech in Lagos can collaborate with a distributor in Accra with confidence. Where trust travels as fast as ambition across every African border.

The Problem We're Solving

The partnership gap that's
costing Africa billions

We spoke with over 150 African business founders before writing a single line of code. What we heard was consistent, painful, and fixable. Businesses spending months trying to find the right distributor. Founders losing deals because they could not verify a potential partner fast enough. Companies with complementary strengths operating in the same city, never finding each other.

This is not a talent problem. It is not a capital problem. It is an infrastructure problem. The rolodex, the WhatsApp group, the cousin who knows someone — this is how hundreds of billions of dollars in African B2B commerce gets done today. Patna is the system that replaces the accident.

🔍

No Discovery Layer

There is no structured way to find businesses with the right capabilities, track record, and intent. You search LinkedIn. You ask WhatsApp groups. You attend events and hope the right person is in the room.

🔐

No Verification System

Once you find a potential partner, you have no reliable way to verify who they are, whether they have delivered before, or whether you can trust them with your business. Every deal starts from zero trust.

📊

No Relationship OS

Even when partnerships form, they are managed through personal WhatsApp threads, email chains, and memory. There is no shared workspace, no accountability layer, no track record that travels with you to the next deal.

How We Got Here

The story behind Patna

Patna did not begin with a pitch deck. It began with a frustration that every African founder we spoke to recognised immediately.

The Frustration

The same story, told by 150 different founders

Before building anything, the Patna founding team spent months in conversations with business owners across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. The story was always the same: the right partner existed, but there was no systematic way to find them.

The Insight

This is an infrastructure problem, not a search problem

Paystack did not build a better payment button. It built the infrastructure that made payments possible at scale. The partnership problem in Africa does not need a better directory — it needs the infrastructure that makes discovery, verification, and collaboration systematic.

The Name

Why Patna

Patna is rooted in the word “partner.” It is short, clean, pan-African in resonance, and immediately communicates the function. Patna means what it is: the place where partners are found, verified, and built with.

The Build

Built community-first, not feature-first

Every feature on the platform traces back to a real conversation with a real founder describing a real cost. The waitlist is not marketing. It is the first layer of the network that makes Patna valuable.

Today

A growing community of businesses building Africa together

Thousands of businesses across Africa have joined the Patna waitlist — logistics operators, fintech founders, creative agencies, manufacturers, distributors. What they share is simple: they believe Africa’s businesses deserve the infrastructure to find and work with each other.

What We Believe

The principles that guide every decision

01

Trust is the product

Every feature, every design decision, every policy traces back to one question: does this make it easier for businesses to trust each other? Trust is not a feature on Patna. It is the entire product.

02

Africa is not one market

We build for the diversity of the continent — not a homogenised “Africa” of investor imagination. A Lagos logistics company has different needs to a Nairobi agritech. Patna is designed to serve both, without flattening either.

03

Infrastructure, not features

Features get copied. Infrastructure compounds. We are building the layer that everything else runs on — the way Paystack is infrastructure for commerce, Patna is infrastructure for collaboration.

04

Community shapes the product

No decision about what to build is made without input from the businesses Patna serves. The community is not the audience. It is the co-author.

“African businesses are not lacking ambition. They are lacking the infrastructure to find the right people to build with. Patna is the attempt to fix that — not for a few, but for every business on the continent.”
